MUSIC THEORY
Basic, Intermediate and Advance Theory rudiments are available from September through June in a group class setting. Each lesson is generally between 60 and 120 minutes in length, and students will learn all the necessary requirements for RCM examinations. The NSM curriculum follows the Royal Conservatory of Music’s most recent syllabus. Students will receive quizzes and tests periodically and are expected to prepare and complete weekly homework assignments.
MUSIC HISTORY
EAR TRAINING
History I and II courses are available from September through June in a group class setting. Each class is generally 2-3 hours in length and covers the basic prerequisites for Royal Conservatory examination sessions. Enrolled students will receive weekly homework and periodic tests to prepare for the examination.
Our Ear Training and Aural Skills program runs September through June, and helps prepare students for Royal Conservatory of Music’s Assessment Program.
University Preparatory Program
The Neapolitan School of Music University Preparatory Program is designed to prepare young performing artists for the professional music world and to help them develop their musicianship in a positive learning environment. Coursework presented is equivalent to first year music degree curriculum to give students advanced exposure, performance experience, and preparation for college and university entrance exams and placement tests.

Students at NSM receive year round exposure to live concerts, have regular opportunities to participate in guest artist masterclasses, music workshops and school recitals, register in local music competitions and festivals and volunteer for community music outreach events, organized through the Minds On Music Outreach Program.
